The concept of Sweet Fit VI was developed out of a passion for fitness and wanting to share that love with others in our community! At Sweet Fit VI, our mission is to motivate people of all ages and abilities to come together and achieve their fitness goals, and have fun while doing it! Indulge in your fitness journey at Sweet Fit VI!
In January 2018, I decided to take control of my health, body and overall well-being. Along with healthier eating habits, I started indoor cycling & fell in love! I eventually started cycling 3-4 times a week, and developed a new passion for fitness and wanting to share that passion with others! Cycling gives me the opportunity to clear my mind, zone out for about 45-60 minutes & focus on my ride! In the process, I've lost weight (45 lbs & counting), I'm healthier and most importantly, I feel good on the inside! I'm very thankful to the supportive team of women who encouraged and inspired me to be Great and Keep Pushing!
As a Certified Cycling Instructor, I promise to keep your classes fun, motivating & entertaining with feel good vibes! You will work hard and get in shape all while listening to some great tunes! (I also take song requests 😉). Will you join me on this Fitness Journey at Sweet Fit VI? I hope that you will. Let's do this together and become the best version of ourselves.
Asia was born in Houston, TX and is currently a Student Athlete at UVI - she has used basketball as a means to travel the world, which led her to St.Thomas! Being involved in fitness, Asia has learned how valuable it is to stay active. Her passion to motivate others along with her dedication to community outreach is what sparked her interest in Zumba! Asia has been a Zumba ZIN™ Member since August 2018 and absolutely loves teaching Zumba classes. Her reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! Asia's classes are designed to bring a fresh, fun and exciting environment to fitness! Asia's favorite quote is "Through discipline, you can achieve anything".
Sharon moved to St. Thomas in July with her husband, son (Zach) and daughters (SaraGrace and Samantha) from Nashville, Tennessee. Sharon is an English teacher at Edith Williams and a former Nashville police officer. Sharon has taught numerous fitness classes for more than 15 years at places such as the YMCA and Gold's Gym among others. She teaches high intensity, upbeat classes for all ages and ability levels. If you like to get a great total body workout and listen to some great (loud!) music while you sweat, Sharon's classes are for you!
For years I struggled to find a cardio workout that I actually liked (or that I could stick with). Early 2018, a friend invited me to an indoor cycling class and I have been cycling 3 times a week since! Indoor cycling gives me the burn I want while making me feel really good about myself. I am a Certified Cycling Instructor at Sweet Fit VI and I'm excited to share what I've learned along my journey with everybody! My goal is to inspire you and to get you excited about Fitness! Tricia Homer is a certified Pilates and Zoca® dance fitness instructor. Originally from St. Thomas, Tricia’s first dance training was walking on stilts with John McCleverty’s Traditional Moko Jumbies. She brings her Antiguan and Trinidadian heritage and love for carnival to ZOCA dance fitness. She lives in College Park, Maryland where she coaches MBA and EMBA students and teaches Business Communication in the MS program at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. She enjoys Bikram yoga, kickboxing and teaches ZOCA dance for Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning.
Shanell Petersen-Reffell has been practicing yoga for over 14 years and teaching for 6 years. She once dedicated her life to studying “the art of a beginner’s mind” which often shows up in her teaching style to all levels. She is the owner of Nella Yoga University, a registered Yoga Alliance Yoga School, and Nella Yoga now located in the U.S. Virgin Islands offering yoga retreats and teacher training programs. Shanell is a student of many styles, she most draws from her learning from the lineage of B.K.S. Iyengar, Robert Boustany, and Larry Thraen. Shanell is an experienced registered yoga instructor (E-RYT) with the Yoga Alliance, a registered continued education provider (YACEP), and a certified trauma sensitive instructor for youth and adults. As a holistic nutritional counselor, author of The Best Sugar-Free Vegan Cookbook Ever, and Reiki energy healer, she continues to help many people heal through a multitude of practices
Amy is 500 hour RYT with training in Tantric Hatha Vinyasa Yoga and Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan . She is dedicated in creating class environments where others can experience the transformative, uplifting, “awakening” effects of sacred yogic medicine which focuses primarily on making the shift from fear to love and moving into heart-centered consciousness. She realizes that planetary healing begins with our own personal healing, one conscious breath at a time. Through the practice of yoga, breathwork, and meditation, one can undo what has been done in their life and one can meet life's challenges with strength, grace and compassion for all of humanity. Amy strives to teach from her heart with compassion and patience at the same time asking students to move beyond their comfort zones and into the zone of transformation where the real magic happens. Her classes can be both energetic and deeply meditative. Amy invites you to show up with an open heart and mind and experience your True Self. Namaste'
Flemon is a Certified Self Defense Instructor, Certified Martial Arts 2nd Degree Black Belt Instructor and a Boxing & Conditioning Coach. If you've attended one of Flemon's classes, then you know he's fun, challenging, energetic and keeps you motivated! You can join Flemon for Body Up Bootcamp, Morning Muscle Hustle, Self Defense Core Workout & Strength Training classes!
Originally from Boston, Sharon is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor/Certified Personal Trainer that has also lived in NYC and Barbados, and now calls St. Thomas her home. She has been teaching classes to individuals of all fitness levels since 2008. From beginner to advanced, everyone is welcome in her classes, all you need is a positive attitude and the willingness to sweat! When she is not working you can find her hiking, paddle boarding or volunteering at the Humane Society.

HOT PILATES (POP UP CLASS)
The HOTTEST new workout in St.Thomas! Hot Pilates is a challenging, low impact, high intensity workout which combines Pilates mat exercises with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in a heated room. This class increases flexibility, strengthens muscles, burns fat and improves endurance! An intense workout for every part of your body, including your core! All fitness levels will get an amazing workout. Be sure to bring a full sized towel and you're all set!
WEEKDAY WARM UP CYCLE
If you're new to Indoor Cycling, this is the class for you! We will teach you the basic moves and body positions while still providing a great workout! You can go at your own pace until you gain your strength and stamina and become more familiar with the exercise! Once you master the spin learning curve, you'll be pushing yourself harder and grooving to the rides like a pro! Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for bike set up. Thanks! ;)

A complete body workout perfect for every fitness level that uses light to moderate weights with lots of repetition to tone and shape your body without adding bulky muscles! You'll leave feeling energized and ready for another session!
BODY UP BOOTCAMP / MORNING MUSCLE HUSLTE
Bootcamp classes are designed for MAXIMUM calorie burn in the shortest amount of time. I want to get you fit, get you healthy, challenge your mind, challenge your body, and most importantly MAKE FITNESS FUN! Classes are 60 minutes in length. Get you in and get you out. I keep you moving and burning fat from the first minute to the very end! Classes will utilize the HIIT method (high intensity interval training), Tabatas (short intense bursts of cardio followed by a short break and back at it!), Push up variations, Burpees of all types, Core and even occasional light weight workouts. I use a scientifically proven exercise formula known as E.P.O.C.(Exercise Post Oxygen Consumption) to increase your metabolism up to 12-16 hours after your workout! That’s right, burn fat for HOURS after your workout! I also utilize the principle of muscle confusion. You will NEVER do the same workout twice! Why is this good? Because…your body will never adapt and you will never plateau! You will get results and they will come quick and continue to come…..month after month after month!
Still your mind while you stretch and strengthen your body. This Hot Yoga class is a series of 26 posture exercises that move fresh, oxygenated blood to each organ and fiber of your body, restoring all systems to healthy working order. Proper weight and muscle tone, along with vibrant good health are all benefits. This class is designed to warm and stretch muscles, ligaments and tendons, in the order in which they should be stretched. Hot Yoga is practiced in a heated room that will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.
MORNING SPIN (INDOOR CYCLING)
Join us every Sunday at 8am for "Morning Spin"! A great way to start your day that will leave you feeling refreshed and energized!
Spin/Indoor cycling is a high intensity workout on a stationary exercise bike. This class improves endurance and strength alternating between high intensity and recovery, all while listening to great music! All ability levels will get an awesome workout!! Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for bike set up. Thanks! ;)
This class focuses on the lower half of your body and it is designed to help you build lean muscle mass, as well as “toning” your thighs and derrière! Each week we focus on workouts that will challenge you and hit all the muscles of your lower half in all planes of motion. Not only will your aesthetics improve, so will your overall strength and endurance! We strive for progress, not perfection. If you’re a beginner and need to do less rounds and less repetitions, it is okay. Keep it up and you will only get better week by week!
ZOCA® (POP UP CLASS)
Zoca® which stands for Zambia's Own Caribbean and African dance fever, is a unique new take on dance fitness inspired by the colorful carnivals of the Caribbean and the new boom in African pop music. ZOCA blends two rich cultures to create an exhilarating dance workout, setting a combo of challenging and fun choreography.
OLD SCHOOL RIDE
A groovy ride to Old School Tunes with a New Spin Twist! Join Anya on a fat-burning cardio journey filled with hill climbs, jogs, sprints and dance moves that will have you getting in shape while working your core! 70's, 80's, 90's music... we've got you covered! All ability levels will get an amazing workout!

SOCA CYCLE & SIP!
Ready to unwind? Great way to start your weekend with some Soca Fitness Fun on the Bike!!! Join us for an intense, heart-pounding cardio workout loaded with hills, jogs, jumps & sprints, and happy hour all in one! Mingle with us and enjoy some low-calorie cocktails after your ride!

This class introduces the basics of yoga to those who are new to the practice, as well as those interested in continuing to work on the fundamentals such as poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and alignment principles that build a foundation for the holistic benefits of yoga. This class will help you reduce anxiety, find a place of peace, and increase mobility in the hips, spine and shoulders. The first part of yoga is simply showing up as your authentic self, everything else is just practice.
TABATA RHYTHM & RIDE
This class is designed to push you to work your hardest in a minimal time frame! We use bursts of intense activity interspersed by active rest periods to jump start your calorie burn! A 45 minute ride to exhilarating music, allowing you to torch fat, get your sweat on and burn calories!

Everything You Need to Know
WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF OPERATION?
Our studio only opens to facilitate our class sessions. Please visit our registration page to track those times. While we do not have strict hours of operations, we can always be reached via email: email@example.com and/or (340) 626-9942. We also encourage you to check our social media accounts to follow our journey and catch the good vibes.
DO YOU OFFER A TRIAL MEMBERSHIP IF I’M NOT SURE THAT I WANT TO JOIN?
Yes! New students can take advantage of our 2 week trial pass for only $60. With this pass, you can try as many classes as you like within 2 weeks.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?
Bring good vibes, your ‘can do’ attitude and, maybe, your exercise buddy. Our studio offers plenty of amenities to facilitate the best session possible, including small face towels, water dispenser, yoga mats and exercise bands. We, however, strongly suggest that you bring a full towel for Hot Pilates sessions. Feel free to bring along any other items that would make you comfortable and motivated. Many of our SweetFit family wear smartwatches to monitor their progress and track their goals. You can too!
ARE YOGA MATS PROVIDED?
Yes, along with other yoga essentials including blankets and blocks. Still, if you have a favorite yoga mat, bring it along. It’s all about creating the best zen for you.
DO YOU NEED SPECIAL SHOES FOR CYCLING?
Need? No. Our bikes have dual capability. This means you can wear either athletic sneakers or cycling shoes with SPD cleats. Most of our SweetFit family get a great workout using their everyday sneakers. Whichever footwear you choose, you will have great results.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Dress comfortably in athletic or athleisure clothing. All sizes, styles and colors are encouraged. Our studio is body positive. We pride ourselves on accepting where you are today and encouraging you to be a better, healthier being tomorrow.
IS WATER PROVIDED?
Yes! We have a water dispenser available for you to stay hydrated before, during and after your sessions. Bring along your own water bottle or purchase our SweetFit VI bottle for just $15.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR CLASS?
The start time for each class is posted at registration. We kindly ask that you adhere to these times and be punctual. If you are new to our studio, we suggest that you arrive 5-10 minutes prior for a brief orientation of the studio, instructor and equipment.
DO I NEED TO HAVE A RESERVATION IN ORDER TO ATTEND A CLASS?
Reservations are required for early morning (i.e. 8:00am and earlier) sessions and must be made by 10:00pm on the previous day. If there are no reservations by then, the class will be cancelled. For example, if you want to attend Sunday’s 8:00am Morning Spin, be sure to reserve your spot by 10:00pm on Saturday.
Mid-morning and evening sessions may be able to facilitate walk-ins but we still strongly suggest that you make a reservation to guarantee your spot.
IF A CLASS IS FULL, CAN I GET ON A WAITLIST?
Of course! When you attempt to make a reservation for a class that is full, the system will ask if you would like to be placed on the waitlist. Respond "yes. You will then receive an email if, and when, a spot opens up. This email will be sent to everyone on the waitlist, so be sure to login as soon as you can and confirm your reservation.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I REGISTER AND I CAN’T MAKE IT TO CLASS?
If you are unable to attend a class that you have registered for, please cancel as soon as you can. You will not be penalized if you cancel at least 60 minutes prior to the start time of the class. If you do not cancel at least 60 minutes prior to the class start time or if you are a no-show, you will be charged for the class. If you have an unlimited package, 1 day will be deducted from your package.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M RUNNING LATE FOR CLASS?
If you reserve in advance, please be punctual. If you’re running late, please call or text to let us know. If you are tardy more than 5 minutes, without notice, your slot may be released to another member on the waitlist.
